Case studiesThe Hospital nr 64 located in Moscow had its first Miratel Innova IP nurse call system installed in December 2009. The hospital management decided to cover VIP patient rooms of three wards by the Innova system, to provide to the patients better care and communication with nurses. For patients it’s easy now to make calls by pressing the alarm button on patient handset to establish a hands free voice connection, place a personalized call and listen to the radio directly through the bedside terminal or pillow speaker. There was demand to the nurse call system with speech connection to provide to the nurses comfortable and up to date working environment. Nurses can now use a telephone at nurse station to receive the calls, calling directly to the patient rooms and making announcements in ward. They see all the needed information as types of calls and patient location directly on corridor display and staff phone. The door lamps located in the corridor display visually all calls and nurse’s presence at patient rooms. For the hospital management the integration of Innova system with hospital’s IP based communication system and hospital Information system brings financial savings by using the existing investments. It makes also easy to expand the system when the need arises. |
